Tiengemeten 
a silent conversation between Jasper Coremans and Vibe Stalpaert

Located at the terminus of Meuse and Rhine, the island of Tiengemeten is the starting point of a relationship between two artists.

Photographer Vibe Stalpaert and writer Jasper Coremans spent a day there in silence. They took the first ferry to the island and the last one back. Bound in time and space, they each used their own medium to capture what their surroundings and their first encounter did to them. The island that spoke, and they who remained silent.

What they couldn’t speak out on the island, they gave voice to in their book ‘Tiengemeten’.
